What changed
Until now, connecting LetX to Claude meant adding a custom connector and pasting the server address by hand. LetX now has a listing of its own in Claude's connector directory, so it can be found and added from inside Claude.
The connector itself is the hosted MCP server LetX has run since August: thirteen tools that let Claude list and read your projects, edit files, compile, and search the template library. The August product note lists every tool and what it can touch. Every edit Claude makes saves a version snapshot first, so it can be undone from the project's history in LetX.
- 01
Open the listing
Go to claude.ai/directory/letx and sign in to Claude.
- 02
Add the connector
Choose to add LetX. Claude opens the LetX sign-in page.
- 03
Sign in to LetX
Sign in with your LetX account and approve the access requested. This is OAuth, so Claude never receives your LetX password.
- 04
Ask for a document
Ask Claude to start a thesis from a template, fix a failing build or compile a project. It returns a PDF link, and the project opens in the LetX editor for you and your co-authors.
LetX joins Claude Startups
LetX has also been accepted into Anthropic's Claude Startups program, which supports early-stage companies building with Claude. The LetX connector already works with Claude, and the program gives us a direct line to Anthropic's team as that integration grows.
Questions
- Is LetX in Claude's connector directory?
- Yes. LetX is listed in Claude's connector directory as LetX LaTeX Editor, at claude.ai/directory/letx.
- Which LetX plan do I need to connect Claude?
- Connecting an AI client needs LetX Pro, Academic Pro or a seat on a Team plan. LetX's free plan covers editing and compiling in the editor itself.
- Is the LetX connector verified by Anthropic?
- It is listed as a community connector, which means it passed Claude's automated review but is not verified by Anthropic. Its tools are documented at letx.app/mcp.
- Can Claude break my LaTeX project?
- Claude edits through the same tools a person would, and LetX saves a version snapshot before every file it replaces, so any change can be restored from the project history.
